* STANAG 2920 & 4296

STANAG 4296 is a NATO standardization agreement regarding military equipment and procedures. It defines the general properties that ballistic protective goggles should have, such as light weight, comfortable fit, reduction of fogging and scratching of the lenses, 160° clear field of view as a minimum, compatibility with other protective equipment and ballistic protection according to STANAG 2920.

The STANAG 2920 test determines the V-50 values for ballistic protective equipment. V-50 is calculated as the mean of the average lowest velocity of bullets with full penetration (penetration) and the highest velocity with partial penetration (insert shot). STANAG 2920 is carried out with a 3.6 mm caliber with a bullet mass of 0.325 g from a distance of 3.8 meters.

The samples have been previously conditioned under a certain temperature and humidity to make the results comparable.
