*STANAG 2920 & 4296
STANAG 4296 is a NATO standardization agreement regarding military equipment and procedures. It defines the general characteristics that ballistic safety glasses should have, such as low weight, comfortable fit, reduction of fogging and scratching of the lenses, 160° clear field of vision as a minimum, compatibility with other protective equipment and ballistic protection according to STANAG 2920.
The STANAG 2920 test determines the V-50 values for ballistic protective equipment. V-50 is calculated as the average of the average lowest velocity of the bullet with full penetration (bullet) and the highest velocity with partial penetration (pin shot). STANAG 2920 is carried out with a 3.6 mm caliber with a bullet mass of 0.325 g from a distance of 3.8 meters. The samples have prior conditioning under a certain temperature and humidity to make the results comparable.
EN 12312-1
This standard corresponds to the German DIN standard and describes, among other things, the legal regulations / minimum requirements for sunglasses for general use as well as the requirements for protective filters.
